Humanos Aid International
Foodbank Report 2014 - 2015

On-going requests and growing number of food parcels were and are still are being handed out in Perthshire and the rest of Scotland by our charity and Aberfeldy and surrounding towns are no exception. It is not hard to understand, that food parcels are more in demand in time of an emergency, especially when there is very late payment or no payment received by Social Services, divorce and other problems, which needs immediate attention. Our charity shop allocates monies from the charity food bank, which supplies immediate help with purchasing fresh food at the CO-OP in an emergency in Aberfeldy.

It most cases, fresh produce, e.g. milk, bread, meat, butter, fruit, eggs, cheese or ham is needed, and also cans of beans, and other items, make up the food parcel, to cover  a two or three day period.

Humanos has donated some 129 parcels in 2014-2015 at a cost of £2045, from our funds. Continuing requests are made, and hopefully the number of requests will reduce someday. We are hoping not to use too much of the funds for the food supply, as the charity has many other projects, so funds are badly needed.

Besides the food parcels, the charity has helped a few families with their electricity top up, which was fortunately not a lot of money, £155.40 in all. This helped these families to avoid sitting in the dark during cold winter months.
Currently, the charity is trying to generate funds which are badly needed, so all donations small or large would be very highly appreciated.
Due to the increasing number of referrals to the charity,  more food parcels have been handed out since the start in 2012, from our local food bank.

Dunkeld, Bankfoot, Pitlochry, Aberfeldy and surrounding villages, have made several requests for help and assistance.
To date, some 448 parcels have been supplied.

The charity, is only handing out parcels by referral, and is  for emergencies only, as most of our donations are for overseas in time of an emergency, and Humanitarian Aid.

All referrals, by local GP,   Churches (regardless of faith/religion) Care workers, and other recognized  service providers  will be taken into consideration.
